I went to a great speaker on "Sabbath Economics" the other night; several intentional communities came so we could meet together. It was really enjoyable and energizing. I am trying to figure out where in my life I can find community after I leave my house. I don't think that community is only found only in housemates, though living together is something unique. I need to seek out community in other ways: by knowing my neighbors, by frequenting local businesses, by being connected to others who share my values. I know that figuring it all out might take some time but I need to do it. Being surrounded by and in tune with other people is what life is for!

Exciting things to happen so far this week:

    • I went to my first spinning/cycling class and it was awesome.
    • Luther Seminary took all of us LVCers out for Pizza Luce.
    • I finally made my vacation reservations for next month! New Mexico, here I come! I'll be staying here and here.

The next month before my vacation is going to be crazy at work! One of my supervisors is gone for two weeks (so I will be doing her job, too), I have volunteers coming out of my ears, and we have our big fundraising banquet. I sure will have earned that week off!
